Subject: PTO drive on 8770

Southeastern Kansas
Our Sunflower grain cart has a hyd. drive on the grain unload because of no pto on the tractor. We fear next year with a 9760 on the corn head we will not be able to keep up. Has anyone done the pto installation on a JD 8770? The last time we checked the cost of the equipment was $5000.00 with no labor. I have a former mechanic on the payroll so labor would not be such an issue. Big question is price and ease of installation. Also maybe we ought to look at trading for a newer tractor but will need to stay with 4-wheel as mfwd are too expensive. Problem is you see very few 4-wheel drives with pto. Thanks for your input.
