Subject: Re: Large doors foor shop

Leesburg, Ohio
Our 34x16 hydroswing was quite a bit cheaper than a 30x16 overhead, and seals up alot tighter than any of our 4 overheads, and we've had alot less trouble and maintenance with the hydroswing. Time to open and close is longer, but not by much...takes about 45 seconds to open or close. That's maybe 25 seconds longer than an overhead. Not significant in my book. Probably not any difference in time to open with a double overhead and center post, and i would not want all those parts and cables to deal with. (We have those parts and cables on 4 other single overhead doors, and hate them.) Actually, I would guess the hydro would open and close alot faster than a double overhead/center post arrangement. Heat loss difference when open will be negligible...once a big door of about any size is open, the air is exchanged in a few seconds anyway. With the floor heat, it warms up again almost instantly.
