East Central Iowa | put them on last year and loved them. When you plant without them you try to shut sections off in the waterways and stop at the ends, but you don't do a good job. with them we never stop. one farm we saved 14 acres worth of seed, (waterways all run on angles and are 30' wide) we figure it paid for itself im less than one year with running around 4000 ac. makes spraying harder when you don't have over plant. Also found that end rows went from half the yield and not standing very good to yielding the same as the rest of the field..
also a quick note, on a 1200 planter there is a bracket under the clutch that you have to cut out and reweld, so when the planter is in the ground that bracket doesn't go into the clutch. found out the hard way that page of instructions was st the back of the book. or you could order the new ones that mount on the seed disk drive. alot quicker to install. | |
