West Central MN | We toured this plant last June and at that time every thing was running full bore. They were hiring workers and adding on to the plant in order to increase capacity.
Late last year I heard that the construction side (payloaders) of the plant was being slowed way down and that the addition they were building in June was now sitting unfinished.
At the end of January, my dealer told me that 4WD tractor sales had dropped dramatically and that alot of the overseas orders were cancelled. Last summer the expected wait time when ordering a 4WD tractor was about 9 months. Now, for orders placed at the end of January, they were getting estimated delivery dates of late March to early April.
Also interesting to note in the story that when they started the plant expansion early in 2008, they were expecting to add 100 workers in 2009 and another 100 workers in 2010.
