Someone advertizes a boot kit to fix this problem in FarmWorld every week in the planter and drill for sale section.
I don't know who it is and don't know if it works but would be interested in knowing more about it.
As far as the blades, set them side by side and compare, order one from several sources and compare and settle on one if you can. Takes some legwork but worth the effort in the long run.
