I went from a JD 220 to a 520 three years ago and have not had a problem with the chopper. I have had less trouble with the 520 than I did with the 220. If you have rocks the 520 is much more forgiving than the 220. They do take a little power to run as I wouldn't put anything under a 4440 on the chopper.
