Subject: Re: Need Offset planter hitch to split 38" rows

I have been twin row planting for two years now with a 3 pt JD 1720. I offset the double bar in front by 4" and it gives me a spacing of 8". You could do the same by adding a double toolbar carrier like what is on the orthman cultivators. I know your hitches are welded on, but I tried the longer pins and offsetting the hitch business until I went 12 row and got a planter with the orthman bolted hitch. another way would be to do this. Imagine if you backed up and caught a lower hook off center in one of the lower hitches, and then cut off and re attached one of the side plates on the other lower hitch that interfered and then made you a longer pin for the top. It would work if you wanted to cut on your bar.
