What does it mean when a tanker trailer is described as a "non code tanker"??

The code is for specifing what that tank can haul.Its called a mc code {MC309} example For instance you cant haul gas in a tank not coded for it.Herbicide,fertilzer,Nh3,certain chemicals, food grade, all have a specfic tank code for what you can haul them in.Nothing to do with inspection.A non code tank means it is not a specialty tank meant to haul these products.Just a plain jane tank.Each product takes a tank with certain specs thats the reason for the code.
