Rivers, MB | Dan,
That sounds really low. We did some 3rd party spraying for a local retailer for a few years when we got our high clearance sprayer. The retailer included us in their insurance but then charged us around $2500/year which we felt was pretty reasonable. $1100 sounds low. What is the deductible? That would make a big difference. They might be charging a very low premium but you would need to have a large claim before it would worth going through ins.
What are the field sizes in your area? We found that we got all the small jobs and we spent alot of time spraying low acres compared to the spraying on our own farm. Around here, the custom sprayers seem to get all the small stuff. Was a good way to help out with the initial hurdle of moving to a high clearance sprayer though. | |
