Haven't heard of codes on any 8000s. The tractor can't tell anything is different. The pump is controlled by the computer so no you can't just turn a screw. The chip just goes inline between the computer and the injection pump, actually plugs in right at the pump's harness. Just a resister that makes it see the signal different so it adds some fuel. On the multi posistion switch it's easy to tell each higher setting because the tractor will idle a bit higher on each as it gets a little more fuel then too. Not a big deal.
