North End I-15 | I used to ride with dad when he was working with the ASCS . Aerial photos were new to farm programs and they required a ground check .
At one farm visited one fellow was harrowing his wheat . I asked Dad why , his reply was the farmer didn't own a sprayer yet and he was harrowing the russian thisel and cow cockel, out of his crop.
So the short answer is , Yes .
But ... the crop being harrowed had best have the secondary roots well anchored while the weed seedlings must be real small.
This farm was organic till 1948.
2-4-D was a real profit tool.
Dad when asked what were agricultures greatest improvements was quick to reply , "weed spray and hydraulics"
