Pretty much the standard set up here in Oz for our version of NoTill  is a knifepoint and presswheel set up,  on a shank.

Lots of canola planted like that at 2 kg's per hectare  which is not far different to 2 pounds per acre.     Mostly on 10 -12 inch rows.

Be careful of fertiliser toxicity if using granular tho.
