South Central MN | Have been checking my 2001 MX 240. One tie rod end is loose. Checked with the dealer today and the old part number is no longer available. New part number is $550, with a note to also order a new Steering Knuckle (trunion) $1800. This all for just one side. The taper must have changed on the new tie rod and does not fit the old Knuckle. No used ones at the salvage, and no after market parts. Has anyone used the new number and used a die grinder to reshape the Knuckle to fit?? Any other suggestions?? Thanks!! | |
