I have a friend that started this same deal. He got a very large fine from the state , because his scales were not accurate and was shorting customers. Think they were only off like 1-1.5 lbs on a 50 lbs sack.Wish you luck , and do your homework on weights and measures.
Going to get the county to certify scales as soon as I settle on which one I want. Still a little unclear if I need to get a vendors license and collect sales tax. If that is the case I should be doing it for hay as well but I think the county turns a blind eye to hay sales. |
