Personally, I would not want them on my combine. WhY?? OK, the fan is trying to force air up through the sieve and the chaffer. By making an opening at the elevator door, the air is going to go out the least avenue resistance. This robs air from the shoe. Maybe not that much, but the shoe needs all it can get and on many machines more than the fan is capable of delivering.
