If the ear broke off your pump, I would highly suggest you inspect your tensioner pulley and the arm it pivots on. The bushing in our arm was worn which I believe restricted the tensioner from flexing and ultimately broke the ear off the pump. We broke two pumps in two years before we checked the arm.
