I have a 13.5 hp Yanmar tractor that's a great little work horse. I had trouble with heating once too and was puzzled with the lack of a water pump. The only thing I could think of to do was to get the rad profesionally cleaned. After that didn't fix it I learned that because the coolant circulates by convection only (by the hot liquid rising out of the top of the engine and the cooler liquid moving out the bottom of the rad) the antifreeze/water ratio can't be too strong. If their's too much antifreeze its like its too thick and doesn't flow as well. By just dumping a little coolant and adding water a few times I got the right mixture by trial and error. I like the idea of a water pump better.
