There are thousands of good truck engines around. Just switch out the Steiger's externals. I think the 325hp 3406A did not have aftercooler on it. If it were mine I would install a 3406B and set it at 400HP.
Even if the engine ran good I would roll a set of bearings in (or at least check one rod and one main) and check the oil pump before install. Also install new rear and front crank seals. Water pumps are cheap and I would prob install a new one. New silicon lower and upper rad hoses. | |
