A new chaffer may help but here are a few other things to consider. 1. Are your accelerator rolls in good condition this will help thin out the crop mat in front of the fan allowing better separation.
2. Depending on what rotor your machine has CDF or 6 bar some modifications can be made to produce less small sticks and move the material through the rotor more efficently.
