I use the motor and fan off a scrapped small dust collector for odd jobs and setting up to blow chaff off grain I am dumping. It is a jet brand not sure of the HP I would guess it is 2hp. I think 5 would be a lot of air and pressure but I guess it depends on the project. I have even used mine as a bin fan on an 18' 3k bu bin and it moves a ton of air through there with just a chunk of tile inside the bin.
