Subject: Drying Fans

Ed, thanks for the info. I'd really like to be able to increase the grain column depth if need be. In the current setup we've been limited to the 9-13' grain depth and then we have to quit shelling and let the dryer catch up. Anything deeper with the axial fans and drying would slow down to almost nothing. The centrifugal fans all advertise non overloading rotors, would that avoid the overloading problems in low grain depths? How do two fans (not in series) on one tank behave? I've just estimated the static pressure, read the airflow for the fan size and doubled it for two. From there I've tried to select a single fan which would give the same or greater airflow. Around here selling grain equipment is a sideline to something else like irrigation or poultry equipment so the salesmen's grain equipment knowledge has not inspired great confidence with me.
