this kind of folding head is quite common in europe due to roading regulations: you must bear in mind that we do not have very large roads in our towns/villages, and 4 rows is about all that is permitted ( < 3m) , elsewhere you have to have a warning car preceding if up to 6 rows ( < 4.5m ) or ask for a convoy if over.

This is part of the reason why rotor combines are / have taken over the market: it allows for quite slim combines.

Choppers underneath are a welcome extra, but ask for some poneys.

I am in Alsace, in eastern France at the boarders to Germany and Switzerland, one of France's biggest corn growing region. Check my coordinates in Google Earth and you will be led to my field ;

Harvest has already begun for the early corn varieties, but with the rain we got these days, it is no use going to the fields..... Some are already under water! As for me, I do not plan harvesting before mid october.

We have had severe worm damage this year, despite all chemicals and pheromones used.
