E.Central MN | The bigger batteries can be higher than that. I think the last truck batteries we bought they had a core charge closer to $30 each. In our state they passed a law limiting the amount of batteries a person can haul (I think its 6 or something low like that) without hazmat endorsement and placards because some scrapper was trying to haul a couple ton of batteries on a beat up old pickup and got involved in an accident. I always had to laugh when I'd see the sign at the local household hazardous waste recycling place that they'd accept old batteries for a fee. The Runnings farm store got smart and put up a sign that people could drop off up to 5 batteries for free. That looked like a profitable service to me. A friend of ours was taking old batteries right to a place that makes new batteries and then he'd buy blemished new batteries and sell them. | |
