| In our area lots of epa types have little work to do so they look at google sat images and then drive around. They noticed a farm site was gone and the found the excavation guy that did it and he said "we tore it down, burned it and buried it". They ended up having to dig it up and take the ash to a landfill. Apparently permits are needed for the burn and to create a landfill. I'm pretty sure these rules were lobbied for by certain entities (maybe a landfill) to get more business and the epa guy may have been alerted.
Of course it's a non-problem that comes with penalties. There are folks wanting a few boards, but there are people that take down cribs all the time to sell or re use the wood for restoration.
