northeastern Ohio | I have a rental house with a propane furnace. The renters moved out and the 500 gallon tank is empty. The tank is owned by the propane supplier. I called the supplier and they quoted me $3.99 a gallon with a minimum 100 gallon order! I told them that I just had MY tank filled for $1.42. They said if I owned the tank, they could fill for $1.99. I told them to come pick up their tank. They called back a minute later and said they would fill for $2.99. What a rip-off!!!!!
It pays to own your own tank. I've found several on craigslist over the years. I've also bought reconditioned ones from my supplier for reasonable cost. They are negotiable if you can pick it up and set it up yourself. | |
