SE MN | The shoe augers on that combine should be removable without much trouble and you put the new bearings on the auger and then reinstall the auger. It's very easy on a 70 series compared to the earlier ones. From the inside under the rotor, there are two bolts on the front of the auger and two bolts at the rear of the auger and it's out. Just don't get them mixed up putting them back in and end up with a couple of them augering backwards! Regarding the bearings, You can probably source them anywhere, but you don't have to go to JD and to get the rear ones at the expensive price because they come with the special holder it uses...that holder will come apart and you can simply replace the bearing and not the holder. Both the front and rear bearings should be the same, or at least they are on a 9770. | |
