I'm over on the east side of Ohio with Canfield and Wooster silt loam soils. I planted most hybrids at 29k this year. I did one hybrid at 35k and it was the lowest yielder in my plot. It also went down BAD in that big wind storm last month. All the other hybrids stood very well despite about 6 hours of 50 mph winds.

A few years ago I planted one hybrid at 22k and it went over 200 bu that year. But in general I have found that most of the hybrids I am using max out on yield around 29k. Generally, I don't lose any yield by going over that, but my seed cost goes up and the chance of lodging increases.

Every year is different, every farm is different, and every hybrid is different. I would suggest doing a population plot next year to give yourself an idea of which way you need to go in population.

Here are the results of my plot this year. All are planted at 29k except B60e at 35k. I did not do any population comparisions this year:
