Subject: PF 2000 antennae outdated?

Northwest, Ohio
We have been using a Northstar antennae for GPS signal with our Ag Leader PF2000 since '98 and gotten by until this year. In fact we have two, one for soil sampling/grids, one for the combine. This year, we rarely get signal. I understood there were weather conditions not conducive to good signal early in the season and usually we could get signal between noon and 5 pm, then it would go out. However problems have continued. Any explanation for this? What are my options? Are the Northstars boat anchors?
I see Pioneer is offering a Garmin 16 HVS Ag Leader antennae in Level 2 of their "Partnership Rewards" program. Perhaps that will take care of the Yield MOnitor but not my Farm Works soil sampling.
