A service guy wirth having will not put Teflon tape on it.  He will remove it, cleand the threads, inspect it, and put pipe thread compound on it before reinstalling it.

Also, a good dealer will insist on inspecting your system to meet current codes and perform a leak test before making the delivery.  The better companies will do that for free, but any repairs needed will be billable.
