| Its been a little while since I've looked at all the GPS features, but is this scenario possible with GPS
Mower tractor cuts 20' of hay with 2 mowers and places swaths 3' offset to right of center, which changes when going back and forth
Rake tractor merges 40' and places hay in center of the 2 20' swaths
Self Propelled Forage harvester follows center of swaths
Tractor and wagons are 12' off center of swaths, which changes when going back and forth.
So in other words, theres a lot of lines in the field.
Is there a program that would tell 'the next pass' which A-B line to take, instantly. The self propelled harvester is only running 30 minutes behind the rake. The tractor and wagons are always 12' off the harvester, but not necessarily always on the right side, or left side. It would be ideal if the guy was driving along the headland and start turning in and have the GPS pick up a signal that says 'oh this line is roughly 12' off the forage harvester, which is in the center of the 2 20' swaths, which is 3' off the original A-B line - he can go down here'
Autosteer is relatively cheap these days and it would make for more productivity if the drivers could focus on the machine more and not the steering. | |
