Subject: RE: Deere Yield Monitor ??

Ive never been around anything but a deere monitor but we get along ok with it but consistancy is a problem. It seems like you can get it calibrated and then for no reason it will change again. As I say this though, We started shelling corn this morning, never calibrated it, just kind of checked it with each load and knew it was close. We had 502,000 lbs go to town and the monitor was off by 300 lbs total. Tommorrow, it may be off 5000lbs without changing a thing. Im sure it was a luck thing today, some of the loads it probably would have been 1000lbs off one way and then a 1000 off the other way on the next load. Ours is usually within 2% one way or the other once we get it calibrated. Make sure that your impact plate is clean and doesnt have any debris behind it. Ive never had any problems with that but a deere tech said dirt inside can cause problems.
