Depending on which system you go with, adding a steering unit to the GPS your are going to need for a yeild monitor is not going to be a lot more money. The benefits of the auto-steering will be immediate but the yield monitor will probably have more pay off in the long run as long as you commit to calibrating properly and use that information for your management decisions. I'm surprised that you are grid sampling and not yield mapping already to ground truth what the soil testing is telling you?
