Loose kernels behind combine ...... 2 kernels/square foot = 1 bushel/ acre. Three bushels /acre loss is acceptable.

This is from an old Pioneer sheet I had.....nothing was said about lost ears that I remember.

I made a 1 foot square out of card board years ago with this info on it. Has been my findings that you can set the combine to do this until the corn gets below 17% moisture....then head loss goes up.
