Subject: Headsite auto header controll problem

Pittsburg, Kansas
This year we installed Headsite auto header controls on two JD 1290 corn heads (12 row 20"). One is on a 9760 Deere and the other is on our 475R Lexion. The Deere has worked really well. The Lexion has worked pretty well some times but we have had a lot of problems with the unit working fine for anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours then locking up and the head raising all the way on the left and staying there. The Lexion uses a small computer mounted on the corn head called an Insight box that converts the Headsight signals into can buss signals the Lexion can interpret. I am beginning to believe the firmware in this computer is buggy. I have learned Headsight started using a new version of this Insight box this year.

Anyone else having problems? Any solutions or suggestions?

John
