Subject: Re: Pick up guards for down beans

We use to raise a lot of P 93B82 beans which always seemed to want to go down, some years worse than others. I bought a set of crop lifters like the Gathermans, believe they were from Shoups. I put them on a 25' 1020 head evey 18" the first year, 2nd yr bought some more & moved them in to 12". They worked ok at 18" but did a better job a 12". The one problem we ran into with them was in the evening when the ground trsh started to get damp they would start to push trash causing us to have to quit cutting before the beans theirselves go tough.

Only ran them when the beans were flat & still have them hanging on the wall of the shed
