mascoutah, IL | Got started with corn harvest a few days ago and found out we had a few bugs to work out of the dryer that has not been run for two years. The yields are running good. The first field was 22 moisture and ran 194 dry (previous record was 193). Second field we went to was the same variety planted the same day but was sidedressed and the moisture was 28. So we moved down the road and found some that is running 24 moisture and so far is running a little over 200 dry. By the way I am in St. Clair county, Il and the corn was planted around the 24th of may. The june planted corn looks just as good except for the 150 acres we have flat on the ground. I just can't believe how slow the corn is drying. Oh by the way here comes the LP truck with another load, ha ha. | |
