The county's mowing tractors have expanded metal welded over a square tube frame protecting their windows. I'd imagine it would be quick and cheap to build. If you can find a place to bolt it to, I'd think you could take it on and off in a hurry. About twice a year I see a tractor with a window missing while walking thru a shop. Last one I saw had the left hand (driver's door) window gone. Mechanic said a rock was kicked up on a dirt road and hit the side window just right. Last summer the neighbor's tractor was missing the cab top and a couple windows...of all the places he could have parked that night, he put it in the path of a tornado.
