We tried some 2 falls ago. Swathed it and let it lay for 2 weeks before it was close enuff to dry to bale. Those stalks have alot of moisture in them, it takes a long time, the other promblem we ran into was the field we did was burned up badly, but the draw going thru the field, had enuff moisture that there were ears in that area and they were big enuff that you couldnt get them thru the crimpers, and you dont want to open the crimpers up, cause you want to crimp the crap out of it to get it to dry faster. We didnt do very much of it gave up, ended up picking the rest it made like 30 bu. I think I would cut it for silage.
