Sensing the speed is the cheap and easy part, finding something to read those pulses and give you an rpm is the hard part. A Cal-An-Acre could read the pulses but it wants to convert the pulses to miles per hour or maybe kph in your area. http://www.micro-trak.com

Any machinery salvage yards around that might have a combine or something that has a shaft monitor that give rpms?

Agtron has a new tachometer unit that might work, or they might be able to rig up something just for your application, and they are in Canada so that makes thing a little simpler for you. http://www.agtron.com/multi.html

I think Grainger has some tachometers too. http://www.grainger.com

Finally, you might be able to jury rig a speedometer out of an old car or truck too, but the input to it would be rotational.

How does that blueberry harvester work. Does not look like the blueberry harvesters that Oxbo sells.
