| We don't get 240 bushel corn here in west central MN but I can attest to being able to run the Gerringhoff quite low. We don't notice much at all for shelling but it is imperative to run very centered between the rows or the cobs will bounce off course and miss the head. We run an 8-row 30" on a JD 9860 STS in 150-200 bushel corn at about 5 mph., fast enough unless you have half dozen semis and three drivers. We have ours lower than a foot from the ground but too many guys around here make the mistake of running them too low when it's really not necessary to do so. They do such a good job we just leave 7-10" on the ground. Good luck. | |
