Subject: Grain carts - 1,000 bushel +/-

Leesport, PA
In the next few years it may be time for our operation to update to a bigger grain cart. Our next step up will be to a cart that has the ability to legally fill a full sized hopper bottom trailer in one shot, so we will be looking at 1,000 bushel carts give or take a little.

Which is preferred - a single auger (corner auger) system or a 2 auger system (a flat and vertical - like Kinze) and why?

How do the balance between the two compare? (We would hope to run it on a large frame MFWD in a flat part of north central Iowa)

We will more than likely be in the used market - are there any carts or brands in the 1,000 bushel size that have major issues? Especially structurally? Thinking as far back as the Kinze 1040s etc.

Thanks for your thoughts in helping to lay the ground work for our future purchase.

Ryan

P.S. Wishing everyone a safe and bountiful harvest!
