Subject: Fertilizer prices around the world

Ayr Queensland Australia 4807
I heard on the country hour news today that in the united states farmers in a couple of states are taking a class action against the fertilizer companies for over inflating prices and using the demand and the cost of fuel as the reason for the cost increase, its good to see that some countries have got the motivation to ask why these people should over inflate the prices, the farmers in this country asked our government to ask the ACCC to look in to why the price was so much more expensive that previous years.
The ACCC is a watchdog to protect consumers against the high flyers ripping people it appears the ACCC needs to take a lesson from the USA farmers.
Urea here goes up daily and is now $1200.00 per ton. Funny how you can buy it for $250 per ton from the people that make it.
One fertilizer company rep was overheard saying that they do not work out how much the fertilizer cost to buy and ship it; they work out how much the farmers are prepared to pay. So what I think they have done is worked out the farmers input cost versus the returns and price their fertilizer to that. What your thoughts on this ?
