We use a JD 4430 or JD 4450. They are 120 & 140 hp respectively.

The 4430 has a load pulling this drill up a hill at 6 mph when it's full of seed. This is especially true when it is hot and dry like we sometimes see in double drop conditions (soybeans after wheat).

On flat ground a 95 hp, JD 4020 could probably pull a 15' GP drill just fine.

I have found that consistent ground speed around 6 mph is important with these drills. I'd rather have a little too much hp than not enough.
