Subject: CIH Rotor Speed Control

Schlegel Farms, Hagerstown Indiana
CIH 1460

The speed adjustment mechanism for the rotor is STUCK. I know it worked before and we have not been to the field yet this fall.

Took the chain off, used a block of wood to help get the belt down in the pulley, also rotated pulleys by hand while working. Two days worth of PB Blaster and "Hagens Special Brew"....a big bar on the sprocket and have managed to turn it a couple of revelations.

I am going to disassemble.......Question is..will the sprocket, hub, and all the thrust bearings etc. come off the front if I uncouple the drive shaft? Or do I have to remove the belt and come out the back? Also; anyone got any ideas how one could lock-up so tight? I've had to use a pipe wrench or tap things with a hammer before, but never this tight. P.S. it has been greased.

..... TIA ..................................Mark
