Subject: RE: harvesting blackeyed peas

SW of Enid OK
I also have peas out, chinese reds and another eatable can't remember the name. With the weather like it is, I was wandering the same thing. Talked with Chris, seed dealer in Hennessey yesterday and he said that it would make them ropey and wirey and a mess to combine. He said they've tried some in past years and the stems never dried completely and just wrapped around everything. Best way is to swath them, but another expense. With the rain we've had I've got another set of blooms coming on. Sampled yesterday and I've decided to wait till monday and take what there is.
