Subject: Too Late?

Wardsville, Ontario, Canada
I've got a few acres of alfalfa that could be cut. It's been too wet for the last two or three weeks but it looks good for the next couple of weeks. I know there is a cut off date for this so the roots can take in enough nutrients to get through the winter. Just wondered what you folks thought. It used to be the first of September, then the 10th. Sept 1st is the cut off date for crop insurance on newly seeded fields. Anyway, if you get a minute from preping the combines for harvest, any advise would be appreciated.
