Subject: RE: RTK with EZ-Guide Plus

GPSWes - 9/8/2008 12:44 You would need those for a ex guide 500 any way. But you do not need to upgrade to Omnistar and the RTK for the ez guide plus?

If you have an EZ-Guide 500 you do not need an external receiver. The EZ-Guide 500 has a dual frequency receiver built in. If you buy the appropriate codes to unlock it, you can receive RTK and Omnistar in addition to WAAS.

The EZ-Guide+ does not have a built in dual frequency receiver. Therefore, you must buy an external reciever like the 252 that was mentioned earlier, as well as the appropriate cables to hook them together. The external reciever you buy will need to be unlocked for RTK just like you would have to unlock the EZ-Guide 500 for RTK.

Whether you went with an EZ-Guide 500 or the EZ-Guide+ with external reciever, you would still need to buy an antenna to recieve the correction signals from an RTK network or base station.
