Subject: RE: ext corrections and ext TSIP

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
My understanding is that ext TSIP means getting both GPS and corrections (Omnistar, RTK etc.) from an external TSIP receiver such as a 332, 252 and others.

The reason for doing this might be if a person had a 332 with Omnistar unlock such as I do that might be moved into the rig with the 500 on a temporary basis. The GPS capabilities of the 500 would not be used at all during this time. The rig would have the added accuracy of the Omnistar or RTK during that time.

External corrections means using the 500's GPS but the correction portion would come from an outside source. For other places in the world that don't have WAAS, this is desirable.
