Zach in Ala. - 8/30/2008 10:10 Yes, Power lines will cause interference.

Do you know this from experience or is this something that in theory could cause interference? The reason I ask is because this spring we ran our MojoRTK base station within 10 feet of power lines several times and had no difficulties. We did this using just a tripod so it wouldn't have been the end of the world had we had to move it. We were just learning and were not concerned about being able to come back next year on the same line.

However, that particular spot was a very good spot in terms of ease of accessibility. I would very much like to put the base station in that exact same spot every time we plant or drill that field. The way we're doing things is that we're putting a post in every field and moving the base station from field to field during planting or drilling. If we had good luck planting that field this spring with it under the powerline on a tripod, is there any reason to believe it will be any different at any time in the future?
