From what I know, or have tried, I can import in shape files into the SMS from my S3. As for using that as a boundry, I believe you can, but not what I would recomend doing. The S3 is a good light bar/mapping unit for basics and is great match for an eDrive, but hard to follow as just a light bar. I would highly recomend the Insight system as the cadilac of mapping/controlers.
